Pretty Girls?

Hey, it's official, I have a logo! Revere me! Now I'll get started!

Though I arrived an entire week before classes for an orientation program, the majority of the students here waited until about two days before classes. A day afterwards, people were all over the residence halls, meeting each other, greeting each other, and making seemingly random comments to each other. Some people had planned on rooming with their best friends, and traveled in pairs. Some people had accidentally locked their keys into their rooms, and were asking around for potential solutions. Everybody on my floor was in and out of everybody else's rooms. It was a pretty normal day.

In their short time here, though, a few people had happened to make the same observation: "Has anybody noticed that all the girls at this school are absolutely gorgeous, and they're all taken?" Somehow, they not only made the same observation, but they phrased it exactly the same, and people quoting each other can't be wrong. Of course, I didn't just take their word for it.

The past few weeks, for me, have been filled with as much observation as I could fit in my busy schedule of homework, food, video games, and online chat. More specifically, the time I spent walking between classes or eating lunch was also spent watching everyone and everything around me.

As is usually the case with both scientific and non-scientific research, I came to a conclusion. These guys were almost correct. The chart below should explain everything:

Girls that are "gorgeous":
  • 95%

Girls that are "taken":
  • 96%

Proving that not all people are shallow, some of the girls who are not gorgeous are taken. Even more interestingly, not all of the gorgeous girls are taken, either. Some of them are interested in guys that are already taken, and others are too focused on trying to get on track for a potential career to have time for guys (read: bad at time management). For the most part, though, the original statement was nearly correct.

Stay tuned for sometime in the near, far, or fake future when I examine the different reasons guys get slapped!
