Television is KICKAWESOME!

Television really has changed over the years. It used to be about family values, learning lessons after mistakes, and couples winning home appliances for doing odd stunts. Now, however, viewers are given dozens, even hundreds of channels, each showing something unique. Serial dramas, cartoons, comedies, sports, movies, oldies, and even video game tournaments! Every year, networks compete to develop the best new show, or to improve what's already good, to keep ratings high. This competition gives viewers quality entertainment and plenty of freedom.

I, on the other hand, am excluded.

My television is older than I am. It displays beautifully, provided I have the channel knobs turned to the perfect angle, which usually differs from where the knob snaps into place. I don't have any external channel changing device, such as a VCR or a cable box, so I can only watch channels 3 through 13. This means no Cartoon Network, no Comedy Central, and a lack of plenty of other decent and occasionally great channels.

I don't mind this too much, as my TV can play video games and DVDs just fine, and any other content I need can be found on the internet. For some reason, though, the people around me are constantly telling me to replace it. Not my roommate, but the people who don't even watch my TV, people who aren't influenced by the quality of the viewing experience in my room. They don't make fun of me or anything, they actually act moderately concerned, almost as though it's a matter of national security, as opposed to I, who don't mind, and hardly see it as a problem.

I can't afford to change the situation, but I don't mind it either. Perhaps I'll spend the rest of the night pondering the priorities of my hallmates.

Suffering from a mild case of confusion, I now end this post.
